Central Banks Under Pressure
Economic growth around the globe is slowing. After a period of synchronised global growth in 2017, the latter half of 2018 heralded a synchronised global slowdown. Last week, the IMF cut its forecast for global economic growth for the third time since October, highlighting escalating risks over the last six months. The IMF cited the threat to the economy from trade tensions and tighter monetary policy, with Brexit an issue here in the UK.
